TapShot is a user-friendly photo and video application designed for iPhone and iPad, offering advanced customizable settings alongside engaging additional features. Its streamlined interface is optimized for both portrait and landscape orientations, integrating thoughtful gestures and features that enhance the user experience. With straightforward operation, users can simply tap anywhere on the preview screen to capture photos or start and stop video recordings—eliminating the need for a traditional shutter button. This design facilitates easier selfie shooting, particularly when arms are fully extended, allowing focus on framing rather than interface navigation.

TapShot supports 48 MP Apple ProRAW and HEIF formats on compatible devices, ensuring high-quality image options. Users can set custom focus points through a long-press gesture, allowing precise control over focus placement while maintaining consistent exposure settings.

The app includes manual adjustment controls for ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and exposure bias within ToolPod’s auto and manual modes. This flexibility caters to users seeking more artistic control over their captures.

An innovative feature allows users to import logos—such as branding or team emblems—and overlay them onto photos during capture. Up to nine positions are supported with adjustable size and spacing from the edges, including support for PNG transparency via iCloud Files.

Depth Capture Mode is available on capable iPhones and iPads, enabling depth data embedding for selfies and rear camera photos. These images can be further edited in the native Photos app to apply lighting effects and modify depth of field.

The app offers flexible aspect ratios with options for traditional 4x3 or wider 16x9 formats, catering to social media and video production needs. Single-finger zooming provides smooth magnification during both photo and video modes; in landscape orientation, dragging along the screen edge allows zoom adjustments without obscuring the subject.

Users can quickly switch to optical zoom positions by dragging with two fingers, ensuring optimal image quality at available zoom levels. The Clean View Mode allows UI elements to be temporarily hidden with a two-finger tap, providing an unobstructed preview environment.

TapShot features an automatic selfie mode that captures multiple photos in succession with minimal user effort—ideal for group shots or iterative framing. A traditional countdown timer is also available for single photos requiring precise timing.

Color themes can be customized from a selection of twenty, allowing the app’s aesthetic to match user preferences or device accessories. The camera switcher widget displays current camera mode, zoom level, and indicates when optical zoom is engaged for best quality results.

Video recording presets simplify the process of selecting appropriate quality settings—such as 4K, 60FPS, or HDR—without needing familiarity with technical details or leaving the application.

Privacy considerations are prioritized; no login credentials are required and no data is collected or transmitted from the device. Photos are stored directly in the device’s camera roll, offering straightforward access through the native Photos app.
